Who is the Most Dangerous Batsman in IPL?

No one could have predicted how large the IPL would become and how it would alter Indian cricket history when it first began. We have witnessed a lot of IPL matches over the years and had the opportunity to meet some of the best batters in the world.

Who would have guessed that the Indian Premier League would become such a game-changer in Indian cricket history? The Indian Premier League, which helped to shape the contemporary game, continues to compete with some of the world's best athletic contests in terms of quality, revenue, and attendance.

Who is the most dangerous batsman in IPL, before we get too excited about the forthcoming season, let us pay homage to the best batters the IPL has seen over the last 14 seasons:

David Warner

David Warner must be considered the best batsman in IPL history because of his jaw-dropping consistency in scoring runs in crucial games. Warner began his career in 2009 with the Delhi Capitals, and in his final season with the Capitals in 2013, he became the first player in franchise history to hit 400 runs. He is without a doubt one of the greatest IPL batters in history. When it came to scoring runs in crucial games, he was always consistent. With the Delhi Capitals, he started his career, scoring 400 runs or more in his final season in 2013. He hit over 500 home runs in five seasons. More than any other player in the IPL, also earned the orange cap three times. He also led Sunrisers to a Championship triumph in 2016. That season, he had an impressive game, scoring 848 runs in 17 matches. Over the course of his career, he scored 5,254 runs in 142 matches with a strike rate of over 140. In addition, he holds the highest average among all batters with over 1,000 runs.

Virat Kohli

Another well-known cricketer, whose performances have set an example to every cricket fan. However, after being named captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, his performance has been nothing short of outstanding. 'Run-Machine' Kohli has the most runs on the list with 5,878 in 192 matches.  Kohli was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on a youth contract in 2008, however, he did not have a productive first season with the organization. After Daniel Vettori's retirement in 2013, he established himself as one of the top batters in the world and was named captain in 2013.

Along with Chris Gayle and AB De Villiers, Kohli amassed a massive run total and established RCB as the center of exciting cricket. In 2016, he won the orange cap for the first time, scoring 977 runs in the season. He has five centuries and 36 half-centuries in the competition and is second only to Australian talisman David Warner in terms of most fifty-plus scores.

Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina is the next person on the list. Being amongst India’s most popular cricketers, he is also regarded as one of the great batsmen in the history of the IPL. Suresh Raina has been a consistent performer for CSK throughout the years, assisting MS Dhoni in winning the majority of games. Suresh Raina, the Chinna Thala of the IPL's most successful franchise, is one of the most popular cricketers in India, particularly in Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

Apart from CSK's key star MS Dhoni, his incredible consistency in combining runs over the span of 12 seasons made him the team's most productive figure. Suresh Raina may have suffered in the last three or four seasons, but no other batter in the first eight seasons could equal his consistency. The superb left-handed batter was an integral component of CSK's three titles, and he continues to be a valuable member of the team. He had suffered in his previous three or four seasons, though.

However, no other batsman has been able to match his consistency. He's also the IPL's second-highest run-scorer. He hit 5,368 runs in 189 innings, becoming the first player in the competition to reach that milestone.

Chris Gayle

It's difficult to envision the Royal Challengers Bangalore without Chris Gayle's incredible contribution to their brand value. After three seasons with Kolkata Knight Riders, the great Jamaican joined them in 2011, and the rest, as they say, is history. In 2011 and 2012, he won two consecutive orange caps, and in 2013, he scored more than 700 runs. He has already established his history as an IPL icon by hitting the most sixes in his career, most sixes in an innings, most runs scored in an innings, and most centuries in the competition.

Gayle scored 4,484 runs in just 125 games for the Kings XI Punjab last season, and he'll be looking to improve to that total with the Kings XI Punjab next season. His average is also impressive, at 41.13, and he is the only batter with a strike rate higher than 150, save from AB de Villiers (More than 3,000 runs).

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is undoubtedly the most decorated and the most dangerous batsman in IPL history, being the only skipper to win four IPL titles and the only player to collect five winner medals. Rohit Sharma, the IPL's third-highest run-scorer, has had equally remarkable stints with both the Deccan Chargers and the Mumbai Indians. When the Deccan Chargers won the Championship in 2009, Rohit was dubbed the best rising player, and the Mumbai Indians signed him for a big fee in 2011, but they have never regretted it. He has been scoring runs when they are required and leading by example in crucial occasions, making Mumbai the tournament's most successful franchise.

Rohit is on his way to completing 5,000 runs in the competition, with 4,898 runs in 183 innings. He had one century and 36 half-centuries at Eden Gardens, making him one of the tournament's most productive players.
